DSN.Sector Maritime

The sea is a natural habitat, source of food, commodity reservoir, energy resource, health resort and transport route. There are myriad – often conflicting – different interests and policies enmeshed within the complex subject that is “the sea”. The application of technology is gaining more and more importance in the use and protection of the sea. The maritime economy – in all its breadth and diversity – is a market with a great future and with big potential for growth and employment in the medium and long term.

Policy-makers, and society in general, are facing many sea-related questions:

  • Which are biggest markets in the maritime economy of the future?
  • How can political strategies work to balance the interests of increased use of the sea and protection of the maritime environment?
  • Which technologies will best support international initiatives for the maritime economy?
  • Which maritime technologies will drive economic development in coastal regions?
  • What staff training will be necessary in the future?
  • What strategies can we use to address a shortage of qualified staff?

We develop answers to these questions and specific projects for you.
