Power Electronics for Green Energy Efficiency

The new technologies in the field of Advanced Power Electronics allow energy savings of more than 50 percent through the efficient management and conversion of electrical energy and the reduction of energy losses.
Currently, however, the market acceptance of these technologies is compounded by technical and economic barriers. For this, the partners of the project "Power Electronics for Energy Efficiency Green" (GreenPE) want to work: They want to strengthen the acceptance and use of a new generation of power electronics, which is characterised by new materials and technologies in the industry around the Baltic Sea. In particular, the technologies should be optimised for the decentralised and time flexible production and usage. Project activities are:

  •  Roadmap for Power Electronics
  • One pilot run in the application fields of renewable energies, e-mobility and smart houses
  • Technology marketing in cooperation with industrial partners.

 The project is funded in the framework of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region programme. 17 partner organisations from seven countries round the Baltic Sea are working together for 36 months and with a total budget of about EUR 3.1 million.

DSN is in charge of the project and financial management as well as the project communication.
