The aim of the FucoSan network is to develop long-term project concepts that are eligible for being funded by external funding bodies in order to ensure the continuous and sustainable development of algae-based applications in the region.
For this purpose, the existing FucoSan network in the German-Danish border region is to be significantly expanded.
Furthermore, awareness of the potential of fucoidans and other macroalgae components will be further publicised and the dialogue and encounter with politics, administration and other cluster organisations will be broadened. Besides, application-oriented research and product development will be further pursued, with a focus on the application of fucoidans. To this end, the very promising results of the FucoSan project (2017-2020) will be utilised in order to identify and develop new projects and research opportunities. DSN has been contracted to provide support and moderation in the process, along with project communication.
