BlueHealthTech combines marine research with health care. The Kiel Innovation Coalition brings together the region's two areas of strength. The aim is to implement medical technology innovations in joint research projects. Marine organisms and technologies are used to develop processes and products in health care. For example, highly sensitive measurement methods from marine research can be used in the medical diagnosis of osteoporosis.
With this idea, BlueHealthTech applied for the WIR! funding line of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and won through in two rounds.
BlueHealthTech was initiated by four organizations: GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research in Kiel, Christian Albrechts University of Kiel in conjunction with Schleswig-Holstein University Hospital and Stryker Trauma GmbH.
DSN helped to establish the network and accompanied the application process. Since 2022, DSN has been active in the areas of alliance development, innovation management and public relations.
