SARA - Global sustainability goals: adapt, regionalise, apply

Implementing the 17 UN sustainability goals in the municipalities of the German-Danish border region – that is the task of the crossborder project SARA. The project partners want to lay the foundations for a decent life in their region while preserving the natural basis of life in the long term.
The goals is the same, but there are very different basic requirements and resources available on site.

In addition to an inventory, the project partners want to develop indicators and methods during the project period with which sustainability in the municipalities can be measured. They rely on the mutual exchange of knowledge, for example in workshops in which companies are also involved. Finally there should be a strategic partnership that ensures long-term on-site implementation with common formats.

SARA is founded by Interreg Deutschland-Danmark. Six partner organisations are involved in the project: egion Syddanmark, UdviklingsRåd Sønderjylland, TREFOR, Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft des Kreises Rendsburg-Eckernförde GmbH & Co. KG, Kreis Schleswig-Flensburg and KielRegion GmbH. Within two years, they will receive funding of around 600,000 euros for a total budget of around one million euros. DSN supported the application and is entrusted with project and financial management as well as project communication.
