CAPTN Energy

The CAPTN Energy innovation alliance is working to establish the generation, storage, transmission, use and security of supply of renewable energies for maritime applications. The geographical location between two seas offers excellent conditions for developing innovative products and services for the energy and transport industries. The medium- and long-term goal of the alliance is to create more regional added value and new jobs through innovations in this field.
CAPTN Energy was initiated by three organizations: University of Kiel, Kiel University of Applied Sciences and thyssenkrupp Marine Systems. In addition, many other alliance partners from business, science and society are involved. The innovation alliance is supported by the WIR! program of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
DSN helped to build the network and accompanied the preparation of the application. Since 2023 DSN is active in the areas of alliance development, innovation management and public relations.
