The goal of 'PowerBay' is to link regional competencies in power electronics, materials science and computer science. This linkage results in new potentials for the economy, especially in the technology fields of green hydrogen, energy storage and intelligent control.
Kiel University, Kiel University of Applied Sciences and the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicon Technology have joined forces. They have submitted a competitive application to the Future Cluster Initiative of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The initiative awards funding for the implementation of R&D projects in regional networks.
