ActiveRegions promote projects that make rural areas fit for the future and improve the quality of life, economic strength and community. There are 22 ActiveRegions in Schleswig-Holstein. They are the result of a joint initiative of the European Union, the so-called LEADER approach. The aim is to make rural regions attractive and fit for the future.

DSN is responsible for managing the network of active regions. Specifically, this involves the organisation and implementation of nationwide meetings, general network management and public relations work at network level. The aim is to work together on topics and realise synergies through cooperation and coordination.
In 2024, DSN restructured the website and modernised it technically and visually together with the 'Mediendiele'.
