CREWS - Improving disaster risk reduction in the Baltic Sea region

The aim of the CREWS project partners is to improve disaster risk reduction in the Baltic Sea region. To this end, the cities and organisations use the potential of civil society in disaster scenarios to strengthen local communities and close the gap between formal and informal actors in disaster management. Through transnational cooperation and knowledge sharing, CREWS is developing a common mechanism for cooperation between public actors and civil society that can be adapted to regional needs.
Project outcomes include a cooperation model and a digital tool for effective coordination between public authorities and civil actors. This will strengthen resilience, optimise disaster preparedness and promote a whole-of-society approach to crisis management.

The project is funded as part of the EU Interreg Baltic Sea Region programme. 13 partners are working together over 36 months with a total budget of around 3.6 million euros.
DSN supported the development of the funding application and is now in charge of project and financial management.
