The topic "breast health" is of great interest to the population and general public in both South Denmark and Schleswig-Holstein. Initiatives have been started on both sides of the border in South Denmark and Schleswig-Holstein in order to further improve on medical provision for the population in the area of breast health.
The central aim of the INTERREG 4A project "Cross-border Collaboration on Population Breast Health in South Denmark and Schleswig-Holstein" was to lay ground for regular cross-border medical services in prevention and treatment of breast health in the two regions.
In five work packages the partners established a Danish-German network of medical, technical and administrative experts, patient organisations and further stakeholders. They compared the effectiveness and quality of the regional breast health programs and developed a medical, technical, and organisational concept for a "Cross-border Breast Cancer Centre".
DSN was responsible for the project and financial management as well as for project communication.
