Knowledge and competence are vital resources for the European maritime transport sector that needs further development for meeting challenges from global competition and the necessity of creating local and global sustainable transport.

Therefore the project partners KNOWME have built an innovative European network of universities and industry. This network promotes the image of the maritime professions and the attractiveness of shipping through new educational and training opportunities that support a continuous career development both on board and on shore. KNOWME was funded under the FP7 program with around 1.5 million euros.

DSN was one of eleven project partners from six countries (Belgium, Germany, Greece, Norway, Scotland and Sweden), involved in the achievement of the project objectives. DSN was responsible for the management of international projects, including public relations and the development of the maritime career portal "Go Maritime".
