Given the rapid progress in science and research, lifelong learning absolutely necessary especially for the knowledge-based economy. Knowledge and skills must be constantly updated. To initiate the process of lifelong learning, the Luebeck University of Applied Sciences and the land Schleswig-Holstein initiated the development of a national virtual campus in the Baltic Sea region. E-learning is also seen as a key to improve access to academic education.
Objectives of the project were:
• Attractiveness and competitiveness of the regions increase
• Key function for the use of e-learning represent
• Production of e-content
• Experience and knowledge in terms of regional and trans-cultural projects collect
Target groups of activities were students and professionals wanted to achieve their academic degrees, to continue or expand their education.
The total volume of the project was 2.85 million euros funded by the Interreg IIIB proramme - Baltic Sea Region. The partner organisations involved came from Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Russia.
DSN was in charge of the project and financial management as well as the project communication.
