STRING (South Western Baltic Sea Trans Regional Area Implementing New Geography) connects the regions of Hamburg, Skåne (South Sweden) and Danish Regions Zealand and the Capital Region (Hovedstaden) with Schleswig-Holstein since 1999.
This strategic partnership was created as a basis for cooperations in the growth region of the south-western Baltic Sea. The main focus is in the areas of science and research, biotechnology, regional policy, maritime economy, climate change and renewable energy.
Within the STRING project, regional politicians develop long-term joint potentials of the partner regions in the form of cooperation projects. The planned construction of a fixed link across the Fehmarnbelt represents an enormous boost for the region. The tasks of DSN were based on the development, moderation and documentation of a workshop.
