Power electronics is one of the key technologies for securing energy supplies, reducing CO2 emissions and gradually replacing fossil fuels with renewable energies in the coming decades. The expertise of the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicon Technology (ISIT) in Itzehoe is of enormous importance for this technology. For ISIT - in its role as coordinator of the Schleswig-Holstein network for power electronics - DSN is preparing a study on the status and perspectives of power electronics in Schleswig-Holstein. The findings from the study are intended to strengthen the innovation and competitiveness of domestic companies. The network will use this as a basis for its future activities.
In 2012, DSN had for the first time compiled an overview of the power electronics players and their R&D requirements in Southern Denmark and Schleswig-Holstein as part of the study "Power Electronics - Volume and demands for research in Schleswig-Holstein & the Region of Southern Denmark".
