In the framework of the project ‘Platform jobs of the future offshore wind’ the Foundation OFFSHORE WIND and the Department of Economics, Transport and Innovation Hamburg wanted to gain an overview of the basic structures of current and future qualification and training needs and of continuing education and training opportunities in offshore wind in Northern Germany. Possible starting points for further co-operation of offshore players in the training area should be identified and recommendations for action should be worked out.
In addition to research and analysis on the basis of data and findings, a corporate workshop was carried out, the education and training opportunities in Northern Germany were recorded and interviews with training providers, multipliers, social partners, networks and associations were conducted.
This present report is particularly concerned with the challenges and prospects in the personnel and training sector along the value chain ‘Development/Planning’, ‘production /construction’, ‘Service/Maintenance /Operation’. A list of specific short-, medium- and long-term recommendations for action is provided at the end of the report.
